rights and responsibilities and to encourage a fairer trading environment. The Fair Trading Awards for 1999, were presented at a gala reception at the Regent Theatre on 22 September. In announcing the winners of the Metropolitan Awards, the Director of the Office of Fair Trading and Business Affairs, Ms Jane Reynolds, said this year's entrants had been of a particularly high calibre. "The judges were faced with the very difficult task of choosing an overall winner from a quality field of entrants," Ms Reynolds said. "The winners are clearly committed to providing Victorians with outstanding customer service and complaints handling procedures." Command Dog Training School was voted the Service and Manufacturing Industry Winner (1-5 employees) for excellence in customer service.
