Eva, (Racename-Avoca Speed) whelped 28/3/04 is a GAP (Greyhound Adoption Program) dog. This is what GAP said about Eva before we adopted her.

"Not all greyhounds are lazy & spend all day doing nothing - just ask Eva. Eva is a real livewire who is always on the go. She is extremely friendly and a real social butterfly who loves to be involved in anything that's going on. She's thoroughly enjoyed being part of a very busy foster family with 4 school age & adult children. Eva does have the diet of a super model and finds that eating distracts her from all the important goings on around her. She is fantastic with other dogs & will need another playful dog to keep her occupied. She will be best suited to a busy, active family who want an outdoor dog, as she hasn't quite figured out this housetraining business. Eva is also suited to a home with bossy, preferably indoor cats, who won't tolerate her trying to play games with them."

Initially we fostered Eva after hearing about the 60 or so Grey's that were abandoned on a farm in country Victoria. GAP was desperate for help with fostering this sudden influx of Grey's requiring homes. Sally (my wife) contacted GAP and after applying to foster we were turned down for the moment as there were no cat-friendly Grey's available. You see our family consists of two daughters, Madeline ( 9 YO), Rachel (7YO), Zane German Shepherd Dog (5YO) and Gus (you guessed it) our very large black & white cat (6YO). You can't imagine our dissapointment as we were all excited about the prospect of having another dog albeit for only four weeks. Anyhow, one week later, Sally get's a call from Melanie at GAP who said they just received a cat-friendly Grey which required fostering from another home and would we still be interested. The answer of course was a resounding YES!

So now the Theofanides family has fostered a lovely Greyhound whose drawing you can see up top courtesy of our youngest daughter Rachel who also changed her name from Eva to Eever. Well we not only fostered her, but the next day applied for adoption. Eva is now known as Eever Theofanides. She has fitted in well with our lifestyle and is learning very quickly the rules and layout of our home. Having two professional dog trainers in the house certainly helps. Sally has now suggested that we foster a Grey as well.  Hmmm, that's another story...

Stay tuned for more pics of Eever and of course Zane's page.
